I was brought up christian and for some reason I never fully agreed with the aspect of heaven or hell. I know this question sounds childish but I was just curious as to what you thought. I haven’t really had any strong influences from other reincarnation-correlated religions however it always stuck to me as right.

Believe what you will, just don’t let your beliefs infringe on the rights of individuals.

Sure. No religion is the only “right” one. Believe what makes you happy, just don’t force it on others.

It’s very much okay to believe you what think is true. Don’t let anybody else tell you what to believe.

    Sure, go for it.
Just wondering, why do you think that? Did you hear about it and think, “Cool idea! I think I’ll believe it’s true no matter what!”?

I do not believe in reincarnation. When we die, the Bible says we are going to one of two places, Heaven or Hell. (depending on whether we choose to live for God or the Devil).

You may believe whatever your fancy likes !
But, if you want the truth about death, read on:
Jesus said: “ . . . saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.” [Revelation 17-18]
What is Death ? — Death is a return to the ground:
“In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.” [Genesis 3:19]
“Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.” [Ecclesiastes 12.7]
When everyone is born God supplied the ‘breath of life’ and he becomes a living soul.
“And the LORD God . . . breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. “ [Genesis 2:7]
Note: man IS a soul, man does not posses a soul
At death, when a man’s breath goes forth, he dies – his being, his “soul” perishes. only a living man is a living soul.! Dead is dead. There is no “soul” that goes out of the body to live elsewhere! No “soul” goes immediately to heaven or hell. Dead is dead!
“For as the body without the spirit is dead, . .” [James2.26]
    The Sleep of Death.
At death the body returns to dust and the life force (not the soul) to the creator
    “ . . . but the dead know not any thing, .” [Ecclesiastes 9.5]
“His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.” [Psalm 146.4]
Lazarus was dead four days, yet he gave no report of any “life after death” experience. (refer John 11.39)
The Bible uses “sleep” as a figure of speech for death.
    Jesus said: “. . . Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; . . “ [John 11.11]
David prayed “Consider and hear me, O LORD my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;” [Psalm 13.3]
“And they stoned Stephen, . . . Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.“ [Acts 7.59-60]
    “. . . the fathers fell asleep, . . “ [2 Peter 3.4]
“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: “ [Hebrews 9:27]
The Hope of Resurrection — “Awake and Sing”
Death is NOT the end. There is hope. As there is a falling asleep, there is a waking up.
“Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: . . .” [Isaiah 26.19]
    “ . . . them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake . . . “ [Daniel 12.2]
The next event that everyone will experience will be the resurrection, as John says, to face the results of his judgment.
“And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. “ [John 5:29]
Jesus said: “I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:” [John 11.25]
What does it mean to “believe in Jesus”? —
To believe that He is the ONLY source of resurrection life; that He paid the penalty for all of our sins when He dies on the cross and by His resurrection made possible our resurrection to eternal life; then by prayer we can invite Jesus into our lives and experience His resurrection power for daily living.
The best way you can prepare for death is to get to know Jesus right now by prayer and Bible reading. You could pray this prayer right now —
Father God in heaven, I am a sinner and I need your forgiveness; I believe that Jesus died for my sins; I want to turn from my sins; I invite Jesus into my heart and life. I want to trust Jesus as my Saviour, and to follow you as my Lord in the company of your Church; Lord please accept my prayer in the name of Your Son, Jesus, Amen.
May God bless you as you study His Word

Of course it’s okay. I believe in reincarnation, though no doubt a less mainstream one.
Do you believe that we all (humans and/or animals) keep reincarnating forever, or do you believe we reincarnate until we learn all our lessons? Just curious =)

Its ok to believe in whatever you want to believe. You have free will and free choice to do what you want. You are your own rule maker. It is fine to not think about heaven and hell, because you are finding out truth from the bible. In truth you do not go to hell, and I don’t think you go to heaven until you live all your lives. Meaning if this is your 28th live, you may have to come back 40 more times. Who knows, and that is my belief. But you can believe whatever you want and it is ok, because God does not judge and a sin is something humans made up. Not god.

i’ve been considering this as well.
i’m not sure i believe in god, but if i do i don’t think he would be cruel enough to create such beautiful creatures who naturally have a tendency to rebel, and send the ones that do rebel to hell, therefore creating rebels, then punishing them for rebelling? it doesnt make much sense to me.
i don’t think that you arent a christian for considering reincarnation either. i think ALL christians are different in their beliefs. not all christians believe the bible is true. but some believe the whole bible is true. personally i think most of it is metaphors…thats just me
power to ya for not following what everyone says though!

Why not?! If you really think about it people desenegrate into little molecules of carbon after death. There’s nothing stopping any of those molecule parts to be reconstituted into a flower, a tree, someone making a sidewalk, or building, or even a body of water and all the creatures it holds. I grew up christian, but the more I debate it, the more it sounds true to me. Go with whatever feels right for you and don’t you care what others say.

Scripture tells us that “It is appointed unto man once to die and then the judgment.”
I used to believe in reincarnation, but as I studied it more closely, it became apparent to me that it was like a game of tic-tac-toe. Each time you play the game you realize you can’t get any better no matter where you start from. So it is with reincarnation. Everyone has demons to battle, weaknesses to overcome, blessings to embrace and take good care of. If you think in doing your life over again, starting from a different position, that you will somehow end up better off than before……… then you are like the person who has yet to discover why tic-tac-toe is only for very young children who simply don’t know any better…………….. yet.
Move on to more grownup games. Embrace this life as if it were the only one that really matters because actually………. that’s exactly what it is. THIS life will determine where you spend the rest of all eternity. That’s how important this life is. Be Wise and Be Blessed.

sure it is ok to believe in reincarnation. heaven is a beautiful place. there is no evidence for the existence of hell.
i can not say that i ‘believe’ in reincarnation. as i feel that knowing supersedes believing. i have memories of many past lives.
